Mister Domestic Aura blog party

*dusts off blog*

I have to admit that I have been a little (okay, a lot) lax with sewing and quilting over the last few months, as I have been bitten by the knitting bug.  But when my lovely friend Mathew (aka Mister Domestic) showed me his gorgeous Aura fabric collection and asked if I would like to be a part of his blog party, there was only ever going to be one answer!

Now I could have gone down the predictable line of designing something of a goosey nature (and it would have been awesome!), but there are some glorious large scale prints in Mathew's collection that deserve to be shown off.  Plus I really wanted to make a skirt....

Disclaimer: I really hate having my picture taken, so will do anything to avoid looking at the camera.  Please excuse what you are about to see ;-)

I made the Made by Rae Cleo skirt using the Laki island in nightfall for the main skirt fabric and the Loulu fans in Sun for the hidden pockets.

I have no idea what I am looking at, whilst trying to avoid having to look at the camera

I bloody love how it turned out!

The beauty of the AGF 100% cotton is how swishy (technical term) and floaty it is, making it ideal for clothes patterns that need a fine balance between structure and drape.

My action shots are a little dodgy, so you are going to have to trust me on this one!

Mathew has lined up some awesome makers for his blog party, go check them out.  I am off to buy some of his turtle knit fabric to make another Mabel skirt.
