Sew Seasonal Blog Hop

I was chuffed to be asked by Kristy and Alyce to take part in their seasonal blog hop.  They have designed 25 Christmas themed blocks (13 Paper pieced and 12 Ornamental blocks) which are perfect for your festive makes and are being offered for free download until the end of November!! Ornamental blocks can be downloaded here and the paper pieced blocks here.
I was allocated number 12 of the Ornamental blocks and not being a massive fan of traditional Christmas prints,  decided to use a mix of the Robins and the washing line print from Aneela's Cherry Christmas and the  red deers from Momo's Oh Deer collection.

Block 12 - Ornamental patterns
These blocks are seriously quick to whip up!  I made three 10" blocks and decided that I wanted to make a Christmas runner for my sideboard.  So I simply sewed three blocks together, added a 2.5 border of the Cherry Christmas presents all round and then quilted with my super quick wonky wavy method.

Wonky waving the quilting!
I had some Kei Honeycomb dots left over from my HMM quilt so had my table runner finished within a couple of hours of starting!

grey days = rubbish pics!
For the back I used some Summersville scandi in London bus red...

I have a feeling that I will have made some matchy matchy coasters using the 5" block instructions by the time Christmas comes along ;-)
